The Crystal Ball 2012 Week 12 Thanksgiving Special
Thanksgiving is once again
upon us. A time when families gather together to share hearth and home, break
bread together and give thanks for the things in their lives they hold dear.
This year in many ways has
been difficult for many. But I encourage everyone to take a few moments today
to sit back and think of some of the good things that have happened for which
we can all be thankful. It does not have to be something wildly life changing,
like the birth of a child or marriage. It can be the little things that have
made life just a little bit better. Often, the joy of life and the things that
make it wonderful and memorable can be found in the little details.
Take a few moments to think
of some things that have given you joy, and be thankful for them. And enjoy the
day with family, friends and whomever you are able to spend today with.
And finally, not football
related, I am thankful to be able to spend the day with family and friends,
enjoy a lovely meal and make memories. I hope you are all able to do the same.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Today’s Specials
The Appetizer
Houston (9-1) at Detroit (4-6)
Detroit makes its annual
appearance on Thanksgiving reverting to their previous losing ways. Houston is
overdue for a few losses, and Jacksonville desperately tried to hang one on
them last week, but I don't see one this week.
Texans over Lions
The Entree
Washington (4-6) at Dallas (5-5)
Rivalry game #1, even though
lately its more of a bitter competition for the bottom of the NFC East. Tony
Romo has yet to lose a home game in November. That is a crazy statistic. I
don't have an overabundance of confidence in Dallas, but I have less in
Washington. At least RGIII will look great on Jerry Jones' giant TV.
Cowboys over Redskins
The Dessert
New England (7-3) at New York Jets (4-6)
Rivalry game #2, although I
believe each team needs to be equally matched and competitive for it to be a
true rivalry. Last time these two teams faced off, New England needed overtime
to triumph over New York. Something tells me Brady and Belichick will not need
more than 60 minutes of game time.
Patriots over Jets
